Security SpecialistMilton Keynes35,000 + BenefitsAs a member of the Information Security team, you will ensure that the confidentiality, availability and integrity of the company's information and information systems are protected. This will primarily be achieved through identification and recommendation of risk mitigation treatment plans and specialist security consultancy to support the needs of the business.Role Profile:*Support the development of an Information Security strategy*Through comprehensive business impact & risk assessments recommend controls that appropriately mitigate risk to a level that meets the organisations requirements*Provide a focal point within the company for information security expertise*Take responsibility for the delivery of a quality security service*Operate as a security design authority*Policy development*Supporting information security awareness and education for the businessGovernance*Support the Head of IT Security with the development and implementation of IT, Information Security Strategy*Development, review and alignment of Information Security Policy*Supporting the delivery of information security awareness and dissemination of good practiceRisk*Support in the recording and management of risk mitigation*Completion of risk assessments to a high standard*Develop risk treatment plans and to track progress*Track security incidents and ensure closure in appropriate timeframeCompliance*To maintain a working knowledge and track requirements of Law, Regulations, Standards and Frameworks as they pertain to Information Security.*Ensure that compliance is maintained against Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard and the Data Protection Act (DPA)requirementsKNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE*A thorough understanding of the IT security marketplace and must be aware of significant technical developments and directions. *Extensive experience in the IT marketplace, and demonstrable period of time spent as a security practitioner.*Experience and relevant skills in justifying the selection and implementation of risk mitigating controls balancing the often-conflicting requirements of usability and security. *The jobholder will be expected to be a key provider of creative solutions to business problems, acting as a catalyst for ideas and encouraging innovation in the security of services and solutions.*The jobholder must be able to make judgements on the acceptability of risks aligned to the organisation business impact thresholds.
